Speech Language Pathologist and Founder:
Judith Capps is a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist from Birmingham. She received her Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Auburn University. She has experience in a variety of settings including elementary schools, private practice, and outpatient settings. Judith has a passion for helping struggling readers gain the skillset and confidence to be successful readers. Judith is passionate about connecting with families and providing evidence based resources to assist in advocating for their children’s needs. Judith is a member of The Alabama Literacy Association and a member of the International Dyslexia Association. Judith is trained in the Orton-Gillingham Approach. Judith received her Orton-Gillingham training through the Schenck school, a school for students with dyslexia. Judith is also trained in the S.P.I.R.E. program, an Orton- Gillingham based reading program. In addition, Judith provides instruction from the University of Florida Literacy Institute, the Wilson Reading Program, Phonics First, and the Heggerty Phonemic Awareness curriculum to provide a combination of instruction that is individualized for every student’s needs.
